Three-year-old Kinder Program
Kanooka's pre-kinder program aims to engage children, aged between 3 and 4 years of age, in play-based experiences that develop their language skills, imagination, social skills, self-confidence and independence.
The children are encouraged to participate in a range of activities that promote developmentally appropriate ideas and concepts. Planned activities help to develop an understanding of the world around them and are experienced through craft, painting, construction, dance, movement and dramatic play.
Children’s self-help skills are also a focus within the Pre-Kinder program. Simple daily tasks such as serving their own meal, helping to set up or clear the table, dressing themselves, all assist in promoting independence, resilience, self esteem and confidence.
Our daily routine provides a balanced program including indoor and outdoor activities, teacher-guided experiences and independent free play.
As part of our routine, children have a daily story time before a quiet rest or meditation time. Throughout the year children will be exposed to gradually longer group times in order to prepare them for transitioning into the Four-year-old program.
Above all, we wish for children to fully embrace being 3 years of age - How is this achieved? Through having fun!
Educators & Room Ratios
Our 3-year old kindergarten is led by a Bachelor trained Early Childhood Teacher, along with other qualified educators. There are up to 20 children within this program each day.
