Toddlers
Toddlerhood is a time of exploring boundaries, exerting independence and learning about yourself. It is an exciting phase of growth and self-determination in which essential foundations for the future are built.
Toddler Program
Our program aims to guide children, aged 2 to 3 years old, to learn about their emotions, needs and preferences, as well as becoming aware of those of their peers. The children are encouraged to learn important self-care skills, such as putting shoes on, feeding themselves and expressing their needs. Through dramatic play they learn how to communicate and interact with others, practicing daily-life skills and processing their emotions.
Indoor & Outdoor play
The indoor/outdoor program supports children to grow and challenge their current motor skills as they climb, run, jump and dance. It is a high-energy environment that provides age-appropriate avenues for the children to use their senses to explore and test their ideas and boundaries.
The consistency of approach and expectations by the educators helps the toddlers at Kanooka to become their own person, while also developing empathy and fairness towards others. Children are offered the opportunity to participate in short group times that include singing, reading and playing name games. This helps the children experience a smoother transition into the Three-Year-Old Kinder program.
Educators & Room Ratios
Our toddler room is led by Diploma-qualified Educators. Catering for up to xx children the ratio of children to educators is xx.
